Suitability Analysis of Geothermal Energy For Building Energy Utilizations
The growth of building volumes and the continuous improvement of building functions will further increase the energy consumption with the continuous urbanization process in China. At present, the existing building energy applications are largely dependent on fossil energy, which poses a great challenge to China's goal of achieving the carbon neutrality. The paper studies the building energy demand characteristic and geothermal energy utilization technology features from the basic requirements of the building utilization for cooling and heating systems. It is well found that there is a good suitability between the building energy utilization and the geothermal energy in terms of energy grade, energy temperature, stability and reliability of supply as well as extensive distribution, high efficiency and energy conservation, green and low carbon. According to the different building climate characteristics and the building energy utilization demand, the suitable technical path for geothermal energy utilization in buildings is proposed. This study can contribute to the efficient, safe and reliable utilization of geothermal energy in buildings, which will help to achieve the goal of carbon peak in the building sector.
