Evaluation of Geothermal Energy Exploitation Potential of The Lindian Geothermal Field In Songliao Basin, Ne China
Lindian geothermal field is a typical geothermal field and the only one being developed at a large scale in the Songliao Basin, NE China. Based on data from geological and geophysical investigation, geothermal drilling and well logging, the distribution of geological structure, stratigraphy, and intrusive rocks in the geothermal field were characterized, the genesis of the geothermal field was analyzed and the resource potential was evaluated. The results show that the the geothermal reservoirs are mainly comprise sandstone in the member III-IV of Quantou Formation, Qingshankou and Yaojia Formation of the Cretaceous. Three deep faults, namely Lindian, Lindian East fault and Western Boundary Fault of Heiyubao Depression, form good channels for deep heat conduction to the upper strata. The Nenjiang, Sifangtai and the Mingshui Formation of the Cretaceous overlaying the reservoirs are a good thermal insulation caprocks. The Lindian geothermal field belongs to a Low to medium temperature conduction type geothermal system. Theheat sources of the Lindian geothermal field are mainly from mantle and radiogenetic heat from upper crust. The evaluated resource base is 12.70×1019 J, the volume of thermal water is 16.43×1010 m3, of which the reserve is 4.91×107 m3/a, and the electricity generating capacity equivalent is 413.15 MW, which is a large-scale geothermal field with prospective development potential.
