Research On Comprehensive Utilization of Geothermal Energy and Shallow Geothermal Energy In Beijing
Compared with conventional energy resources, geothermal energy and shallow geothermal energy are clean and renewable. Beijing is one of the six capitals with geothermal resources, and is one of the earliest cities of developing and utilizing shallow geothermal resources. By 2020, more than 1,300 geothermal and heat pump projects were completed in Beijing. The total application area is more than 59,938,000 square meters which can reduce 757,300 tons of standard coal per year. This paper analyzes the geological conditions and suitable development areas of geothermal energy and shallow geothermal energy in Beijing. Combined with the city construction planning and resource characteristics, it also estimates the resource potential and discusses the key technology problems of large scale application of geothermal energy and shallow geothermal energy. According to the research, Shallow geothermal energy can provide heating and cooling for 721 million square meters of buildings. The geothermal energy in ten geothermal fields in Beijing can provide heating for 301 million square meters of buildings when the geothermal water is completely reinjection during exploitation. The large scale comprehensive utilization of geothermal energy and shallow geothermal energy has great importance for relieving energy pressure, improving energy structure and achieving carbon neutralization in Beijing.
